A flashing glance. A moments folly. A breeze upon a lazy fall afternoon that tickles your ear with the slightest touch. And the trees dance their slow, sleepy dance. Your hair falls slightly as you look down to navigate the stone path. A crow bellows his presence afar, leaving his stark call echoing softly through the air reaching our ears as little more than faraway laughter. His mate calls back. Even more faint. I search for your eyes and find them, seeing all the worlds beauty within. And I am floating somewhere amidst your mystical world inside, amongst all the wonders captured by your love. I wonder if inside that world I am the man you need me to be. And am grateful that you accept the man I am out here. Your footsteps, on a stone’s path to life’s nowhere – is exactly where – I need to be.
